Description
This role significantly impacts measurement of UTA's Ridership Goals and collects vital information for UTA to make data-driven decisions. Ride the FrontRunner, TRAX and buses throughout the system, counting passengers entering and exiting the vehicle. This is a three day per week with varying shifts each day according to different assigned routes. Other duties include driving to each bus stop, hang information, record findings, take pictures and handing out surveys.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION/TRAINING
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years old or older.
SKILLS
- Must demonstrate dependability and responsible behavior, ensuring that assigned work is completed as scheduled, on time and with accuracy.
- Must be able to use text, email and phone. Have basic computer skills. Tablet knowledge preferred.
Must be able to:
- Cooperate with other people and maintain good relationships with other system monitors and supervisor.
- Represent UTA's values and goals.
- Stand and walk to multiple bus stops or train stations.
- Maintain stability while standing and walking, including stairs, on a moving train, bus, or TRAX vehicle.
- Ability to hear, with or without medical device.
- See and read signs and addresses from a moving bus.
- Visit each bus stop on the assigned route, post information, record findings and take pictures.
- Other duties involve handing out surveys and collecting data of other observations.
- Sit for long periods of time without a break.
- Demonstrate ability to accurately locate and ride the assigned trips, accurately count boardings and alighting's, and record other required information on data collection tablet.
- Work shifts Monday through Wednesday vary from early morning to early evening. Some Thursday and Friday days may occur.
- Work on varying routes and stop locations throughout the UTA system, in all weather conditions.
This job requires regular and predictable attendance.

Shift: Part-Time work involves morning shift hours between 5:30am and 11:30am. Afternoon shift hours 11:30am to 5:30pm. Set days each week. 4 to 5 hour block of work. Exact hours determined by specific bus routes. Manager willing to work around schedules within reason.
Pay Rate: $17.69 per hour
